California Bank and Trust
The light terracotta frame encasing the green tinted curtain wall lined with white stripes of aluminum mullions in a simplistic manner of postmodern architecture. That’s an image of the California Bank and Trust office building situated in the heart of the Orange County.
The rows palms and the ficus trees reflect in the serene simplicity of the facade making a clear division from the large transport arteries the building is sitting by. The building opens to the insides of the block with a colonnade carrying the extruded glass portion of the building leaning to its neighbors. The intention for further establishment of the building as an integral part of the block can be read in treatments of colors and surfaces making it a component of an architectural ensemble.
