303 Velocity Way
Overlooking the coastal East 3rd Ave, the office building resembling a silver cruiser ship is directed toward the San Francisco Bay, by the leaning facades of its bow. Or some might say that it feels like something out of Star Wars.
On the starboard side of the building, there is a lowered entrance portal, branching out of the volume the way a drawbridge does and leaving a three story structurally glazed imprint of an opening. On the port side entrance, the mass of the building opens with a swing. The entrance is smaller, but not less intuitive.
The three story glass wheelhouse on the top of the building facing the bay, the long railings of the roof decks and the white funnel structure at the back, heighten the impression.
